Good Comic

If you are looking for a real world comic then check out www.mjbcomic.com. I work with this guy and he has set a goal to write a comic every day he works. I do not know for how long he plans to do this, but they are good. Some are too closely tied to our job to completely understand, but I am sure you will still giggle.

Flowers

I was talking to my wife about Valentine’s Day gifts. She told me that flowers are a given. I then asked her why girls like a gift that will die inside of a week no matter what you do to try to prevent its demise. She stops and gives me this, you shouldn’t have to ask, but I am going to tell you anyway look, and says…they’re pretty. Well I could take a picture of them with my new digital camera, blow it up, cut it out, and stick it in a vase so that it looks pretty, never dies, and I save a few bucks…but then I’ll probably be sleeping on the futon for a week.

Hardware Support

I just had someone call in asking for help getting the flashing yellow light to go off on his printer. I told him that we do not support hardware here and referred him to his hardware vendor. He said, “I don’t want to bother them with this”.

All I can say is…that light is going to keep on flashing!

Digital Bliss

My wife and I finally managed to purchase a digital camera! I had one in college until it was knocked out of my hand and shattered along with my bank account when I started paying for film and devolping. It was made worse once I got married. My wife loves to take pictures of the animals in cute and goofy positions. Considering our animals are nuts, they are always being cute and goofy. My mind was made up when I went wife her to turn in four rolls of film and we paid nearly $50. My wife actually stopped taking pictures for a while until she couldn’t take it any longer and had to buy a disposable camera for birthdays, outings, and other family get-togethers. Check out the first pictures my wife took to test the camera…and of course they are of our animals.

Homeless

A judge just ruled in favor of the MN Twins, saying the Twins do not have to play in the Metrodome past the 2006 season. I would just like to ask where they expect to play if not in the dome? The legislature is no where close to signing off on a plan to build a new stadium and there isn’t even another city in the country that is publicly courting the Twins to move.

Next season the Twins will probably call a big card board box home. We could call it Corrugate Stadium. Just think…the Twins would finally have a retractable roof stadium…someone will just have to pop open the flaps when the weather is nice and fold it up when it rains. By the end of the season Corrugate Stadium should leak as badly as the Metrodome does. They will still have the problem with not enough luxury boxes and still won’t get money from concession stands, but hay, they are no longer in the Metrodome.

Head Hunter

I got a call from a recruiter last night saying that he was made aware of my exceptional talents as a Desktop Support person and he has been contracted to find someone such as myself. He has a policy of strick confidentiality and would therefore not tell me who referred me to him. He would say that he did not find my resume on the internet (probably because it is not posted), and that someone did pass my information on to him…including my phone number that my friends don’t even know.

I spoke to him for about an hour last night listening to his pitch, which did sound good. I decided to send him my resume and listen a little more in hopes to find out how he got my name more so than trying to find a different job.

How cautious should I be?
